HOW WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE WEDDING DRESS SHOPPING?
I did hunt around and try on a range of different styles of dresses. I knew that I wanted something sleek and modern, but wasn’t overly confident in which style would suit my body type the best. Love You More Bridal was the last appointment I had booked, and as soon as I met Kim and tried on her dresses I was confident I would be able to find something. I fell in love with my dress when I tried it on and knew it was the dress for me.
HOW DID YOU KNOW YOUR GOWN WAS THE ONE?
As soon as I tried my dress on I was able to picture myself on my wedding day. Up until that point I hadn’t had that feeling yet. This feeling coupled with the amazing vibes I got from Kim, and connecting with her ethical and environmental passion it was the easiest choice to make!
WHAT WAS YOUR WEDDING STYLE AND INSPIRATION BEHIND IT?
We really wanted our wedding to be an explosion of love/colour/moodiness/fun - a pretty fair representation of us as a couple. We managed to accomplish this brief by tying the overall aesthetic of our venue Rupert on Rupert with bright florals and table scapes.
HOW DID YOU MEET?
We’ve known each other for 15 years. We met through Karly playing on the same sport teams as my brother. From there we became inseparable “besties” and Karly became part of the furniture! Fast forward into adult life and we reconnected and the rest is history!
HOW DID THE PROPOSAL GO DOWN?
Karly had an amazing afternoon planned to walk the dogs in the Melbourne botanical gardens with dinner to follow. Unfortunately during the process of loading the dogs into the car and putting harnesses on there was a bicker which resulted in Amy giving a partial silent treatment on the way into the city. My brother and sister in law were there hiding in the bushes to photograph the moment and then we headed to our favourite vegan pizza restaurant to celebrate! It was the perfect mix of chaos and love.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE MOMENT FROM YOUR WEDDING?
Saying our vows, being so vulnerable and committing to something so life changing in front of our closest people was nerve wracking, but it was the best.
WHAT WAS YOUR WEDDING SOUNDTRACK?
Lover by Taylor Swift. We’re both massive Swifties so this made for the perfect first dance song!
WHAT ARE YOUR WORDS OF WISDOM FOR OTHER BRIDES?
Invest in your vendors! We have come away from our wedding with the best memories, and most amazing photos and videos that we will cherish forever.
